An admirable and ravishing Piaget Dress Watch ‘TV Screen’ Clous De Paris ‘Hobnail’ with the reference number 12427 A 4 in white gold, crowned by a beautiful lapis lazuli dial. In the 1970s and 1980s, the Piaget brand was known for setting and breaking records in the construction of the thinnest hand-wound and automatic movements. This Piaget also features the Piaget automatic calibre 12P with micro-rotor - at the time, it held the record as the thinnest automatic movement at just 2.3 mm. However, the Maison Piaget is still known today for one thing in particular: dials made from special stones. From the 1970s to the 1990s, nobody could hold a candle to Piaget when it came to onyx, jade, mother-of-pearl or lapis lazuli dials. The beauty and uniqueness of a stone dial is also evident in this watch; every time you look at it from a different angle, you discover new structures in the lapis. There is a very fine hairline crack on the left-hand side of the dial, which is barely visible to the naked eye when looking at the watch. If you take a look at the right-hand side of the dial, you can see fine gold dust, which is completely normal for a lapis lazuli stone. The overall design of the watch is marvellous and crafted with the quality we have come to expect from Piaget in the 1970s. The bezel, case sides, top and sides of the bracelet are crafted in the typical Clous de Paris pattern, a guilloché pattern that gives this watch a dreamlike design in combination with the TV screen case. The original Piaget bracelet is also a highlight in its own right, crafted in the same style as the case, also in 18k white gold and with the original jewellery clasp, also in 18k white gold. As can be seen from the raised gold hallmarks on the case back, the watch has been carefully and minimally polished once or twice at most. This Piaget is currently in very good condition, with slight signs of wear, but without any major impacts or defects. A service was carried out by our master watchmaker in June 2025, naturally without refurbishing the case or bracelet. The dimensions of the watch are 30 × 32 mm (without crown), the total weight is approx. 87.5 grams. The bracelet has a total length of approximately 18 cm and can of course be shortened by a good goldsmith if necessary. Important: When shortening the bracelet, the removed parts should be stored carefully. To summarise, it can be said that this is an absolute masterpiece by Piaget from the 1970s. All the components of the watch fit together harmoniously and give it an impressive, timeless look. This Item is directly available.
