The best of the best! Rare and beautiful Patek Philippe Perpetual Calendar split second Rattrapante chronograph, with the reference 5004P in 950 platinum. This watch comes from the 1st series, in the production period between 1994 and 2009 only about 300 watches were made, so a real rarity! The movement of the 5004 is based on the Lemania CH 27-70 Q movement and was equipped by Patek Philippe with the complex Perpetual Calendar, moon phase and split-seconds chronograph modules. The movement can be viewed through the exhibition back, which is almost like a mechanical work of art! The second closed and solid case back in platinum is of course also included. For many watches and Patek Philippe collectors, this is the so-called "Holy Grail"! Why? This watch was one of Patek's most complicated watches in its day and still is today, featuring two of the four major complications, namely the Perpetual Calendar and the split-seconds chronograph (the other two are the tourbillon and the minute repeater). Due to the small number of pieces and limited production, the 5004 was eventually discontinued because the production costs were too high. The dial has a beautiful silver colour called Argente, which harmonises perfectly with the Arabic hour markers. This 5004 is on a Patek leather strap with the original PP pin buckle in 950 platinum. Of course, such a watch only has collector's potential if it comes in an absolute full set, just like this example, which comes with the original PP box and outer box - correction pen - Patek guarantee certificate / Certificate of Origin (sold in 1996) - operating instructions - booklets! My personal conclusion on this exceptional watch: This Patek Philippe 5004 is special and iconic in so many ways, for me it has been one of my absolute favourite watches for years and anyone who wants to add this watch to their personal collection or is in the fortunate situation of already having done so knows that this Patek is something very special.
